Lynette Voevodin taught (english as a second language) in a bi lingual school at Kintore 1984 and she taught the Indigenous teachers the concepts to be covered each day after school finished.
Kintore (Walungurru) is a small community located 530 kilometres west of Alice Springs at the foot of the culturally important hills Pulikatjara (meaning two hills). The population varies according to cultural activities and numbers vary from 250 to 500 people, averaging around 350. The community was established in 1981 when the Pintubi people moved back to their traditional country from Papunya.
Lynette also worked as the art teacher at Kalumburu in 2000 for two terms while the original teacher was on maternity leave.
Lynette Voevodin completed an MFA 1994, Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia and is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Humanities at Curtin University of Technology.
